Located in Troy, OH, Deltech Polymers focuses on producing specialized crystal polystyrene (PS) and styrene methyl methacrylate (SMMA) products. These products find wide-ranging applications in extrusion, injection molding, compounding, and blending processes. Extrusion grades are particularly used in the building and construction industry, specifically for insulation products, while molding grades are well-suited for durable houseware and lifestyle goods. Deltech also offers various grades tailored for color concentrates, specialty compounds, and custom-formulated materials.

Deltech para-tertiary-butyl Styrene (TBS) is a versatile substitute for styrene monomer, offering improved properties and fewer handling restrictions. It exhibits low volume shrinkage during polymerization, a high affinity for oils, high solvent receptivity, and improved water resistance in copolymers. From an environmental perspective, TBS has a low vapor pressure and high flash point, reducing emissions from storage or handling and minimizing the flammability hazard. Moreover, its low volatility decreases monomer fumes in the workplace, and it is not classified as a listed air toxic, thus avoiding many environmental use requirements.

Deltech Vinyl Toluene (VT) is a mixture of methylstyrene isomers, with approximately 55% meta and 45% para isomer distribution. This reactive monomer readily polymerizes to form a high-clarity, colorless polymer with excellent electrical and physical properties. In many applications, VT demonstrates superior properties compared to styrene monomer.

Deltech Crystal Polystyrene 144 is a homopolymer of styrene, produced through the polymerization of styrene. It is primarily used in the manufacturing of plastic products. This polymer is in a solid physical state and appears clear in color. It is insoluble in water and demonstrates stability. Importantly, there is no occurrence of hazardous polymerization with this product. Furthermore, It is an inert substance with low volatility and is non-biodegradable. It also possesses a low potential for bioaccumulation, making it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to some other materials.

Deltech Crystal Polystyrene 920 HMF is a solid polymerized styrene used as a plastic product. It appears as a clear solid and is insoluble in water. It is considered stable, with no risk of hazardous polymerization. Due to its solid nature, it is expected to have low mobility in the soil. It is also classified as non-biodegradable, indicating that it does not readily break down in the environment.

StanChem Polymers SC 5218 is a surfactant stabilized vinyl/acrylic copolymer emulsion for paints and coatings. SC 5218 provides formulators with superior scrub resistance, durability and flexibility.

StanChem Polymers SC 6458 is a 100% acrylic copolymer that exhibits excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates including metal, wood and cementitious surfaces. SC 6458 is self-crosslinking and is capable of crosslinking with urea-formaldehyde or melamine binders.

StanChem Polymers SC 5019 is a HEC stabilized, vinyl acetate emulsion with very high molecular weight and a highly branched structure. SC 5019 exhibits good water resistance and high electrolyte tolerance. SC 5019 is recommended for use in the production of paper laminating adhesives, joint cement and textile sizing.

Thickening begins with the addition of ammonia, sodium hydroxide or an amine to raise the pH to 7.0-8.0 for maximum thickening.
