Deltech Monomers specializes in the production of high-performance aromatic monomers, including para-methylstyrene (PMS), vinyltoluene (VT), tertiary-butylstyrene (TBS), divinylbenzene (DVB), and other specialty monomers. These serve as the fundamental building blocks for various chemical and polymer products. Deltech's products offer significant advantages in appealing and demanding end markets such as coatings, adhesives and sealants, ion exchange/water purification, oil and gas, composites, and construction.

Deltech Monomers

Located in Troy, OH, Deltech Polymers focuses on producing specialized crystal polystyrene (PS) and styrene methyl methacrylate (SMMA) products. These products find wide-ranging applications in extrusion, injection molding, compounding, and blending processes. Extrusion grades are particularly used in the building and construction industry, specifically for insulation products, while molding grades are well-suited for durable houseware and lifestyle goods. Deltech also offers various grades tailored for color concentrates, specialty compounds, and custom-formulated materials.

StanChem Resins, situated in East Berlin, CT, holds a prominent position in the industry and is acknowledged for its expertise in developing and producing high-performance emulsion polymers and resins. Serving diverse industries, including architecture, construction, adhesives, and packaging, StanChem prides itself on delivering customized solutions that align with its customers' unique needs and specifications. The company remains at the forefront of emulsion polymer and resin technology advancements through continuous research and innovation.

StanChem Resins

Deltech Vinyl Toluene (VT) is a mixture of methylstyrene isomers, with approximately 55% meta and 45% para isomer distribution. This reactive monomer readily polymerizes to form a high-clarity, colorless polymer with excellent electrical and physical properties. In many applications, VT demonstrates superior properties compared to styrene monomer.


Deltech Monomers Vinyl Toluene (VT)

Deltech para-tertiary-butyl Styrene (TBS) is a versatile substitute for styrene monomer, offering improved properties and fewer handling restrictions. It exhibits low volume shrinkage during polymerization, a high affinity for oils, high solvent receptivity, and improved water resistance in copolymers. From an environmental perspective, TBS has a low vapor pressure and high flash point, reducing emissions from storage or handling and minimizing the flammability hazard. Moreover, its low volatility decreases monomer fumes in the workplace, and it is not classified as a listed air toxic, thus avoiding many environmental use requirements.

StanChem Polymers SC 5174 is a vinyl/acrylic copolymer developed specifically as latex for interior and exterior paints and coatings. StanChem 5174 exhibits an excellent combination of flexibility and hardness. Intumescent and fire retardant paints produced with SC 5174 provide superior scrub resistance, durability and flexibility.


StanChem Polymers SC 5184 is a vinyl /acrylic copolymer designed for use in interior architectural coatings demanding excellent scrub resistance and reliable pigment dispersions.

StanChem Polymers SC 6445 is an acrylic copolymer emulsion that exhibits excellent UV resistance, good solvent resistance, good pigment binding and SC 6445 being carboxylated, can be cross-linked with melamine.

StanChem Polymers SC 6257 is emulsion polymer that can be used as a binder for a variety of coatings for different substrates. Coatings formulated with SC 6257 exhibit good clarity, water resistance, abrasion resistance and excellent adhesion properties.

Importantly, there is no occurrence of hazardous polymerization with this product. Furthermore, It is an inert substance with low volatility and is non-biodegradable.
