Deltech Monomers specializes in the production of high-performance aromatic monomers, including para-methylstyrene (PMS), vinyltoluene (VT), tertiary-butylstyrene (TBS), divinylbenzene (DVB), and other specialty monomers. These serve as the fundamental building blocks for various chemical and polymer products. Deltech's products offer significant advantages in appealing and demanding end markets such as coatings, adhesives and sealants, ion exchange/water purification, oil and gas, composites, and construction.

Deltech Monomers

Deltech para-tertiary-butyl Styrene (TBS) is a versatile substitute for styrene monomer, offering improved properties and fewer handling restrictions. It exhibits low volume shrinkage during polymerization, a high affinity for oils, high solvent receptivity, and improved water resistance in copolymers. From an environmental perspective, TBS has a low vapor pressure and high flash point, reducing emissions from storage or handling and minimizing the flammability hazard. Moreover, its low volatility decreases monomer fumes in the workplace, and it is not classified as a listed air toxic, thus avoiding many environmental use requirements.

Deltech Vinyl Toluene (VT) is a mixture of methylstyrene isomers, with approximately 55% meta and 45% para isomer distribution. This reactive monomer readily polymerizes to form a high-clarity, colorless polymer with excellent electrical and physical properties. In many applications, VT demonstrates superior properties compared to styrene monomer.

StanChem Polymers SC 6261 is a 100% acrylic copolymer emulsion designed for durable house and trim paints. Paints and coatings made with SC 6261, in addition to durability; also exhibit good wet adhesion, good dirt pick-up resistance and good gloss retention.


StanChem Polymers SC 5019 is a HEC stabilized, vinyl acetate emulsion with very high molecular weight and a highly branched structure. SC 5019 exhibits good water resistance and high electrolyte tolerance. SC 5019 is recommended for use in the production of paper laminating adhesives, joint cement and textile sizing.

This polymer is in a solid physical state and appears clear in color. It is insoluble in water and demonstrates stability. Importantly, there is no occurrence of hazardous polymerization with this product. Furthermore, It is an inert substance with low volatility and is non-biodegradable. It also possesses a low potential for bioaccumulation, making it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to some other materials.

Deltech Divinylbenzene 63% (DVB63) is a reactive monomer primarily composed of divinylbenzene and ethylvinylbenzene isomers. It is commonly used in the synthesis of ion-exchange resins and in the production of unsaturated polyester resins and casting resins, where DVB63 serves as a cross-linking agent, providing rigidity. The appearance of this product is that of a yellowish-clear liquid.


Deltech Monomers Divinylbenzene 63% (DVB63)

Deltech para-Methylstyrene (PMS) is recommended for evaluation as a replacement for vinyltoluene and styrene monomers. It shares similar chemical properties and polymerization behavior with both vinyltoluene and styrene. When used as a partial or complete replacement for styrene monomer in unsaturated polyester resin applications, polymerized resin products exhibit lower vapor pressure at any temperature and a higher flashpoint. Additionally, PMS offers advantages such as lower shrinkage during molding, improved thermal properties, and greater tensile strength in glass-filled applications.
